Ahoy, Another day offshore just came to it’s end. A good day. But aren’t days offshore always good?? The wind is still challenging, still too much west and if from the north Gusty and shifty.. So we work the ropes a lot. But thinking positive, it’s a good training for the crew. Genoa in , Genoa out. Staysail up and down. Sheet in sheet out. Multiply times a day. I’m so happy we’re 5 persons so we can spread the joy of winching and furling.
We motor more than I wanted but the weather forecast predicts a huge calm for the days after tomorrow. That means no wind but swell.. something which can break even the saltiest of saltbacks. Rolling from left to right all day long. Not a situation we wanna find ourself into. Most people report of storms being the wirst, which are exhausting and can be terrible, I get it, but calms can be even harder.. for gods sake we have a motor and plenty fuel..
When the motor is running we have hot water, plenty of it. A good chance to take a hot shower. We killed the engine, jumped overboard and swam around the boat. Have you ever had the chance to swim in the middle of the ocean? It’s a great feeling. The water is cristal clear and you can see the hull kinda flying between two world’s. I always say you can see everything and nothing. Everything because the water is like glad and nothing because the ocean is 16000 ft deep here and there’s no ground so the only thing you see are different shades of blue with sunrays aiming for a bottom they never reach.
You don’t know whats around you.. can be a lot or nothing. Only thing you know is that whatever there is is well better equipped to live in water than yourself. It’s thrilling! Afterwards we all enjoyed our turn with a hot shower before we had an amazing cooperation between Italy and Mexico for dinner..
MexItaly pasta con frijoles.. yummy.
The night shifts become smoother and smoother with every day and I get more sleep with every day we’re out here. I Love it!
Hope you have a good time as well.. ALOHA Christian

Awesome post. We had trasmission problems again. Got almost to turtle bay. We tried to sail north to ensenada but could not get west to tack north. So we turned and have been heading back to Cabo for repairs. We are still 12 hours away. Slow 3 knot sailing. Ill make another run north in a few weeks after repairs. Have fun.
Hey, Doc Ocean,
Love everything you do and so Happy to know our Captain swimming in Happiness.
