What a beautiful day! The usually grey sky cleared up around noon and since then the sky was spotless blue. The air was bone dry and cold. It almost felt like you open the door of your refridgerator. The air temperature outside us the same as the sea temperature. 12 °C. But today the sun was shining and all moisture was gone.
It felt good. I opened all hatches and let the warm moisture loaded air out and replaced it with fresh dry cold air. Of course just for a couple minutes. I didn’t want to cool the whole boat.

There is still no wind and I’m burning fuel. Predict wind announces some wind tomorrow morning. Hopefully they are right.
How was the saying about a red sky in the evening.. We had a beautiful sunset and all he sun left a blood red sky behind. The sun was setting over our port rail and on starboard raised a full moon. Perfect scenery.
Still a lot traffic here. In this moment another ship appeared on my radar. Cargo vessel YM MILESTONE, 305 meter long. Still 10 nm east of us but only 3 nm ahead. That will be another close encounter and I hope he’s passing behind me. His course is 267 grad over ground. We’ll see what happens..

I watched a couple movies yesterday night. After a while it felt like I’m sitting on a sofa in a house somewhere. It didn’t feel like being on a boat. I tried to compare it to an RV. But you need to sit behind the wheel while moving. Not so on a boat.. Honestly.. ZERO is doing all the work, I’m just supervising her. And when all my senses are busy with the movie it feels strange. I remembered having this feeling before but am not sure if it was on the crossing from mexico to Hawaii or somewhere else..

I can see the lights of the cargo vessel already east of us. She’s still around 9 nm away. Good visibility tonight. Now AIS considers it as a dangerous vessel and my alarm went of.. That means the actual course and speed from both of us will result in meeting pretty close. Probably within a mile. That’s too close for me and I’m going to call her over the radio right now.
There was a lady answering the radio immediately, confirming to have a clear radio echo of us. But she wants to pass in front of me. I would liked to see here passing behind me. Anyway. I went on deck to slow down ZERO so there will be more room between us and found another approaching vessel right behind YM MILESTONE. It doesn’t show a name or lenght so its probably a Fisher.. But it looks like it will pass in front of me as well.
I’m doing less than 5 knots now.. It should be enough room now between us.

Anyway..
Back to the weird feeling while watching a movie. Why is it the way it is? Is it because I usually watched movies or TV in a house. I mean.. I probably have a 1 to 99 percent ratio watching movies on a boat or in a house. Maybe that’s why it feels weird.
The vessel passed us 3/4 mile in front of us. I stopped completely around 15 min ago it would be way less if I hadn’t stopped. That’s something I don’t understand. There’s absolutely no need for that. There’s plenty room out here.

Whatever.. I’m hungry and start cooking now..
