8.6 kn SOG..
That’s what my instruments are showing right now. OK.. That’s not average it’s peak on a wave but anyway.. Its jumping from 7.4 to… Yeah 8.6. That’s friggingfast!
And it’s only 15 kn true. The sea is still calm compared to what we had the first days but I can feel its building up slowly.
No fancy baking today. Just reading, watching movies and editing the next episode. I try to rest during the day a little more so I’m not so tired during the nights.
Not that it makes any difference because half of the day the visibility is as bad or even worse than during nights. It cleared up around noon. This was beautiful. The sun was shining and I could see various cloud formations far in the distance. Not for long but a couple hours before the fog surrounded us again.
Wow.. 8.8 kn.
It’s not really fog because we have clear air on deck and around us for at least 200 meter. It’s more that the air is very humid and all these water particles are blocking the light. It’s a kind of very light mist you can’t feel but see.
Our wind angle is 105 degree now. That means we’re on a nice beam reach. Fast course but it keeps the autopilot busy..
Inside the cabin its nice. We still have 16-18°C here without any heater running but outside is chilly. Feels like around 10-12°C and in the wind even less. I’m glad to have the big windows so I can check on the sails from inside. I even have a good view around except straight forward and astern, if there wouldn’t be the damn fog..
If the weather will be like that when I make my landfall I’ll have to time it even better. During daylight of course but probably not far away from noon as well.. I don’t wanna come close to the secluded Alaskan coast during fog or what ever this is..
We’ll see..
