stayed in Topolobampo for 3 Days and didn´t have any other boats around except the 3 fischerman in their panga who lived in tents on the beach. They were going out for fishing acouple times a day and always came back wirth the boat loaded with fresh fish. After we explored the sandy island by walking around the sanddunes we passed the "Fishing Village" and they gave us fresh manta filets. So eve we weren´t able to catch fish we had very delicious Manta for dinner. Rebecca and I found tons of shells on the beach and on of this shells looks so beautiful that we couldn´t belive they were natural. but we found so many of them that they have to be any kind of animal we just don´t know.. yet! Wde figured out that they were called sand dollars and are a kind of starfish animal who slide over the sandy ground with millions of hairy feets on the bottom. They don´t look pretty when they are alive but when they die all the hair and organic parts will be eaten by other animals and the bone dries out and will be bleached by the sun to leave a nice white shell on the beach for cruisers like us..
Our anchorage was absolutley safe with calm water that when the wind came up it blows over the sanddunes and creates perfect kite conditions for me so i had a good time on the water while circling around our boat. after this we took our dinghy and explored the mangrooves on the other side of the bay. There was a labyrinth of creeks with mangrooves an both sides. after all the desert-like looking landscape we really liked the green color.
